1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Zelyo website at zelyo.one, the application at app.zelyo.one, and the Zelyo Chrome extension (together, the “Service”). The Service is operated by Artisam Labs.

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not access or use the Service.

2. Use of the Service

You agree to use the Service lawfully and only for its intended purpose. You must not:

• Infringe the rights of any person or entity, or violate any law;
• Transmit malware, spam, or any harmful code;
• Attempt unauthorized access to the Service, its systems, or its data;
• Misrepresent your identity or your authority to act on another’s behalf;
• Scrape, harvest, or bulk-extract data from the Service without written consent;
• Attempt to circumvent the zero-knowledge protocol’s security or soundness, or to fabricate invalid proofs.

3. The Protocol & Services

Zelyo provides a credential protocol in which issuers mint credentials, holders prove facts about those credentials in zero knowledge, and verifiers confirm proofs — with rewards or claims optionally gated on a proof. The Service includes issuer, holder, and verifier interfaces, on-chain registry contracts, and a public job/gate board.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service — including specific gates, networks, or reward types — at any time, without prior notice. On-chain records and credentials already sealed remain governed by the protocol itself, not by us.

4. Intellectual Property

All content and software on the Service — including text, graphics, the Zelyo logo and seal, type, and the protocol’s open-source code — is owned by Artisam Labs or its licensors. The Zelyo name and marks are protected trademarks.

Where the protocol source code is released under an open-source license, that license governs the code. All other Service content may not be reproduced without prior written consent, except for personal, non-commercial use.

5. User Submissions & Keys

When you use the Service as a holder, your private credential attributes and your holder secret (“s”) are generated and held on your own device. They are not submitted to us, and we have no ability to recover them for you. You are solely responsible for backing up your keys and secret; losing them may mean losing access to your credentials irreversibly.

Any content you submit that is transmitted to the Service (for example, credential metadata you choose to publish) grants Artisam Labs a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute it solely to operate the protocol. You represent that you own or have the right to submit such content and that it does not violate third-party rights.

6. Blockchain & Zero-Knowledge Disclaimer

Zelyo interacts with public blockchains (Stellar and Soroban) and uses zero-knowledge cryptography. Blockchain transactions are generally irreversible and publicly recorded. The value of any on-chain rewards may be volatile, and the regulatory status of digital assets is uncertain across jurisdictions.

The Service provides cryptographic infrastructure — not investment advice, financial advice, or legal advice. You are responsible for understanding the risks of using blockchain networks and self-custodial credentials. We make no guarantee that any proof, gate, or reward will be accepted by any third party.

7. Third-Party Links

The Service links to external resources — including the Stellar explorer, wallet providers, and the Chrome Web Store. These are provided for convenience. We do not endorse and are not responsible for the content, practices, or risks of third-party services.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Artisam Labs and its contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service — including loss of credentials, lost rewards, transaction failures, or compromises of third-party wallets or browsers.

Because private attributes and keys are held by you and never transmitted to us, we cannot be responsible for their loss or compromise on your device.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Artisam Labs and its affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, your violation of third-party rights, or your fabrication or misuse of proofs.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. On-chain records and credentials already sealed are governed by the protocol and are not affected by termination of your access to the Service.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to Artisam Labs’ place of organization, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You and Artisam Labs submit to the jurisdiction of the competent courts in that venue for any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service, except where prohibited by mandatory consumer-protection law.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. We will post the revised Terms on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes signifies acceptance of the revised Terms.
